Putting Wellness First®

At WellBound, our top priority is patient wellness.  Recognizing that a diagnosis of chronic kidney disease (CKD) can be frightening and confusing, we deliver personalized care that is focused on both the physical and emotional needs of patients.

WHERE WE BEGIN: WELLNESS EDUCATION

WellBound believes that wellness education is the first step in an effective treatment program and we work to engage patients before they require dialysis.

Our unique combination of CKD services includes comprehensive wellness education classes on a range of topics such as diabetes management, hypertension, cardiovascular health, kidney transplants, exercise, nutrition, and stress management.  These classes, which are open to all CKD patients free of charge, provide the information necessary to maintain the lifestyle that patients’ desire.

Our experience has shown that patients who take part in our classes are more health literate, more engaged in their healthcare, and more proactive in managing their health.  This often allows patients to slow the progression of their kidney disease and delay their need for dialysis.

We also believe that support is a key element of a successful wellness program. That's why we not only educate patients, but their families as well.  At our centers, family members are encouraged to learn everything they need to know about how best to support patients in maintaining their health.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT TREATMENT

At the time that patients need to begin considering dialysis therapy, our entire team - including Certified Nephrology Nurses (CNNs), Registered Dietitians, and Social Workers - will be there to help. We’ll assist, along with patients’ physicians, in tailoring an option that best suits patients’ lifestyle and health requirements.

We offer a comprehensive renal replacement therapy education program that highlights all available treatment options, providing patients with more choices than traditional dialysis programs.  As part of this program, we will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of:

  • Transplantation
  • In-center hemodialysis
  • Peritoneal dialysis
  • Home hemodialysis

This program, which is also open to all CKD patients, helps patients fully understand all of their treatment options.  As a result, they will be able to make a more informed choice in selecting the therapy that is right for them.

WELLBOUND: TREATMENT PARTNER

While WellBound is dedicated to offering its wellness and therapy education programs to all CKD patients, when it comes to supporting dialysis therapies, we are focused exclusively on self-care treatments at home.

For those patients interested in self-care dialysis, WellBound supports the full spectrum of home treatments.  Each of our patient-friendly centers features CNNs who personally train patients on these therapies.  Additionally, our care team includes registered dietitians who will tailor a diet to fit patients’ lifestyles and social workers who will provide support as patients adjust to their new therapies.

Our centers combine state-of-the-art clinical capabilities with a warm atmosphere designed to help everyone feel comfortable.  We also maintain 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week urgent care call coverage so that patients and their families are always just a phone call away.

By combining our valuable wellness education programs with innovative self-care dialysis therapies we are leading the way in:
